In Falkenstein, a report was received of smoke developing outdoors in the recreational area, prompting the Falkenstein, Imsbach, and Winnweiler units to respond for reconnaissance. Initially, no fire or smell of smoke could be detected in the reported area. The reconnaissance was then continued using drones, which also initially failed to detect anything.
A short time later, however, a relatively small glowing spot was spotted from the air, which was subsequently investigated by the Falkenstein Fire Department. It turned out to be a campfire that had already burned out. It was completely extinguished using a small amount of water. Afterward, all fire department personnel were able to conclude the operation.
