The fire departments of Göllheim, Winnweiler, and Enkenbach were called to a car fire on the A 63 in the direction of Kaiserslautern, near the Sembach interchange. When the crews from Winnweiler arrived, the Enkenbach Fire Department’s command vehicle was already on the scene. It turned out that the vehicle was not fully engulfed in flames; rather, only slightly charred insulation was visible in the engine compartment.
Firefighters secured the scene against oncoming traffic and used absorbent material to contain leaking fluids from the car. They also inspected the engine compartment with a thermal imaging camera but did not detect any critical temperatures. The scene was subsequently handed over to the highway patrol.
