In Gonbach, the ruins of a house located outside the town limits caught fire. The fire was extinguished by the fire departments of Gonbach, Münchweiler, Imsbach, and Winnweiler using a total of four hoses. A drone monitored the situation from the air.
Since the building was at high risk of collapse, firefighters tackled the blaze from the outside, using an environmentally friendly wetting agent.
The Gonbach Fire Department maintained a fire watch until the evening hours. The police were also on the scene and have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
