The fire departments of Höringen, Gehrweiler, and Winnweiler were called to a trash can fire that had already been extinguished by a resident using a dry-chemical fire extinguisher. The three affected trash cans were located under a carport made of wooden beams, which had been exposed to the fire. The firefighters thoroughly cooled the burned materials and inspected the wooden beams and the surrounding area using a thermal imaging camera to rule out the possibility of the fire reigniting. The scene was then handed back to the owner.
