Report
Firefighters from Börrstadt and Winnweiler were called to the scene because a suspected electrical fire had broken out in a residential building, and they needed to check whether there was still an imminent danger. Upon arrival, the crews found a charred electrical outlet and a charred cable in the kitchen of the house; the power had already been shut off. The crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the temperature around the charred area and inspected the tripped circuit breakers and verified the absence of voltage using a voltage tester. They also measured the carbon monoxide concentration in the affected room. No cause for concern was found. Consequently, the owner was advised that the kitchen must remain de-energized until repairs are completed and the system is re-inspected by an electrician. The firefighters were then able to conclude their operation.
