In Lohnsfeld, smoke alarms had gone off in a multi-unit building, prompting the Lohnsfeld and Winnweiler fire departments to be alerted. By the time emergency responders arrived, the building had already been evacuated, and the alarms were no longer audible. A search of the entire building was conducted, but nothing was found. The fire department was then able to conclude its operation and handed the scene over to a municipal maintenance employee to inspect the smoke detectors.
