The Winnweiler Fire Department was dispatched to a nighttime traffic accident of unknown nature on the A63 between Winnweiler and Sembach. In addition, an ambulance and the police were immediately requested by the dispatch center.
The first fire department vehicle to arrive on the scene found a passenger car off the road; it was an electric vehicle. The ambulance was already on the scene and was treating the car’s driver, who had sustained minor injuries. The fire department inspected the vehicle using a thermal imaging camera but was unable to make any findings. To completely rule out the possibility of a subsequent fire, the car’s power was subsequently disconnected.
Afterward, the scene was handed over to the police, and the fire department personnel returned to their stations.
