On the L394 between Sippersfeld and Neuhemsbach, a car carrying two passengers collided with a tree. Both people were seriously injured; one person was trapped inside the vehicle. The fire departments from Sippersfeld, Breunigweiler, and Winnweiler responded, as did first responders, emergency medical services, and a rescue helicopter. First responders had already attended to the injured before emergency services arrived. The Sippersfeld fire department, the first unit on the scene, immediately began using hydraulic rescue equipment to free the person who was severely trapped. Due to the severity of the entrapment, the Winnweiler fire department provided additional hydraulic rescue equipment, enabling a rapid rescue. The injured were transported to hospitals by ambulance and rescue helicopter.
Since the incident occurred within the Enkenbach-Alsenborn municipal association—a detail not mentioned in the emergency call—their fire department command was notified. The scene was routinely secured against the risk of fire, and the road was closed. The police subsequently took over the road closure so that an accident investigator could document the incident.
