A single-vehicle accident involving a passenger car occurred overnight on the country road between Höringen and Gehrweiler. The fire department, alerted by a witness, was unable to locate the driver, however, as he had left the scene of the accident on foot.
The drone unit and the search-and-rescue dog team assisted in the search for the person, as it was unclear what condition they were in and whether they might have collapsed due to serious injuries. However, various clues suggested that this person had been picked up by another vehicle not far from the accident scene. The operation was concluded around 9 a.m.
