In Winnweiler, smoke detectors went off in a house, prompting a call to the fire department. Upon arrival, it turned out that there was no fire; rather, the smoke detectors had been triggered and sounded the alarm because their batteries were completely dead. The fire department helped remove the dead batteries from the detectors to silence the alarm and was then able to conclude the call.
