Report
Several vehicles on the A63 reported a major fire near the highway. Due to the large flames, it was suspected that a garden shed had caught fire. Since the report of the exact location of the incident was rather vague and in some cases differed by about 10 km from the actual location, the first challenge was to pinpoint the scene of the incident.
When they managed to do so, it turned out that it was not a garden shed but a registered Pentecost bonfire. Consequently, the fire department did not need to respond.
Note: When reporting accidents, fires, etc., on or near the highway, providing the exact kilometer marker makes it much easier to provide assistance. For this purpose, there are small blue signs every 500 meters along the highway indicating the exact kilometer marker.
