The fire departments of Lohnsfeld, Wartenberg, and Winnweiler responded to a call reporting a fire in an outbuilding in Lohnsfeld.
The first firefighters from the Lohnsfeld Fire Department to arrive on the scene determined that only a storage room was affected. The fire was quickly brought under control after a neighbor had already begun extinguishing it using his own resources. Subsequently, extensive mop-up operations were carried out by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, followed by a final inspection using a thermal imaging camera. The police were notified of the incident and also arrived at the scene.
