Why is this event being held?
With an average of 15 emergency calls per year, the Wartenberg-Rohrbach Volunteer Fire Department is an indispensable part of our municipality’s public safety infrastructure. However, the scope of our responsibilities extends far beyond immediate firefighting and technical rescue operations. Our fire department performs key functions that are crucial for maintaining public order and essential services, especially in times of crisis.
Infrastructural Interfaces and Crisis Preparedness
In the event of a widespread power outage or a collapse of communication networks, the Wartenberg-Rohrbach fire station becomes the central emergency call and information center for the public. In this role, we serve as a resilient hub that ensures communication with emergency dispatch centers and coordinates local relief efforts. This role as a “beacon” in the community is an essential component in protecting our residents during extraordinary emergencies.
Wider-Area Responsibility: The Municipal Association’s Public Services Function
In addition to local emergency response, the Wartenberg-Rohrbach Fire Department shoulders significant logistical responsibilities within the Winnweiler Municipal Association, as we serve as the central supply unit. In the event of large-scale or prolonged emergency situations, our team takes charge of organizing and providing meals for all personnel on the scene. This logistical feat is essential to ensuring that emergency response units can maintain their performance even over many hours.
