Opening of the Breunigweiler Fire Station

Another event was scheduled for the afternoon, as the festivities provided an official setting for the handover of the new fire truck to the Steinbach Fire Department. The LF 10/12, built on a Mercedes chassis with a Ziegler body (manufactured in 2003), has a water tank with a capacity of 1,200 liters and seats a full crew (9 firefighters). The vehicle is equipped with both firefighting and technical rescue equipment and fills a capability gap in the Steinbach/Börrstadt response area. Following its acquisition, the personnel carrier previously stationed in Steinbach was sold. The new fire engine will serve as a temporary solution until a district-level vehicle is stationed in Steinbach and will subsequently be used as a backup vehicle for the entire municipality.

We congratulate the Breunigweiler Fire Department on their new fire station and the Steinbach Fire Department on their new vehicle, and we wish all the firefighters a safe return home from their calls every time!
